First the Chicken, then . . .

. . . the egg!

3 of them actually!
The chickens are laying eggs!

We don't know which chickens it was, but the boys found 2 cute little brown eggs first thing this morning and one more a few hours later. Kacin had the first egg in his hand and was running into the house to call Eric and tell him the exciting news, when it slippped from his fingers on the back porch. Well, at least we had proof that it wasn't a baby chick in there, just an incredible, edible egg!

Guess what we're having for breakfast tomorrow?

Thanks for sharing the second egg with us. Ella has it in the fridge in a little baggie. Too bad it's me that's going to eat it. The boys just yelled over the fence that there is another one today.

I just told Gary the story of the fist egg (i was laughing while telling it)--he said it sounds like a lot of work for one egg! What are you doing with the chickens when you move?

I wonder what it woul dbe like to be a chicken laying an egg for the first time?
Confusing.
("What in the world is THIS??" :))

Gotta use this post to tell you -- if your other chicken takers bail out, Tyler has all the sudden decided to be bold and talk to our neighbors who declare they will tease us mercilessly but could care less if we have chickens. So...I guess we are opening our arms to orphaned chickens now. Let us know if yours still need a new home.
