The Park

Really now, whose child is that?

I don't know what anyone else thought
who saw her swinging there
but part of me couldn't stop laughing
because she looked so silly

And part of me didn't want to be seen
as the one pushing her
because then everyone would know
that it was me
who was the bad mom
who forgot to bring coats for my children
while on an outing to the park
on a freezing cold day.

D didn't look quite as silly
wearing Kyler's coat. . .

 Handsome Kacin . . .

 Look at the hero
who offered his coat to his little brother. . .

Jacqui knew how to stay warm--
by playing on the playground, of course.

 Sweet little eskimo Macie . . .

Dad-E

Dad E always know how to bring the biggest smiles.
Dad E is one hundred percent involved in our kids lives and raising them to be happy and good.
Dad E changes diapers, wipes snotty faces, helps with projects, and has both genuine and silly conversations with our kids.
Dad E impresses me each day
and makes me so grateful to share the role of parent with him.

And now here's where I have to include the only other pictures from our day at Pike Place Market . . .

Peek-a-Boo and Many Untalents

Kyler's Christmas gift to aunts, uncles, and grandparents
was a coupon book tailored for each person.
He made coupons for neck rubs, back rubs, playing games, cleaning, helping with children, etc.
And then he threw this one in there for Aunt Natalie
just to be funny.
It gave us a good laugh when she read it
and an even bigger laugh when we made him redeem the coupon.
He went into the high chair for added effect.
The coupon was for a game of
Peek-a-Boo.

The Untalent Show this year
was a quick one.
But we still saw some mighty fine untalents.

Chugging a Taco/Tabasco sauce mixture . . .

frying bacon . . .

3 dancing girls . . .

One forward roll . . .

1st place finish on a Mario Kart race . . .
Yo Gabba Gabba reenactment . . .

And mom played us a game of pass the presents
and dad was very untalented at sleeping
and Natalie was untalented at getting on a plane and leaving us.

May we spend the year
discovering many more untalents
to be shared next time.
Until then!

Family Time at Mukilteo

We walked by the beach and the lighthouse,

ate some Ivars,

and walked on the ferry just for a beautiful ride across the water.
Not only did we do this while waiting for the ferry to come back . . .

But we also played a riveting game of charades.
Luckily we were the only ones in the waiting area while that was going on
or some strangers would have been quite entertained (or frightened)
or forced to join us.
Darn--no pictures.
I guess I was too busy acting out surfing
and trying to guess which Star Wars character Ky was each time.
