Chicken!!

There hasn't been a chicken update in quite awhile.
The girls have had some big changes in their lives recently.

Back in March, Eric broke ground on their new chicken coop. . .

To help us tell them apart,
We tagged the girls with numbers.
#7=Geronimo
#12=Chewbacca
#8 = Queen Amidala
#16=Mr. President (fyi. we changed Mississippi's name)

mid construction . . .

The day the girls moved in to their finished coop . . .

Haircut

Time for a haircut!
But this time Eric had a little too much fun
with the process.
He kept threatening Kacin
that he would leave his hair like that
if he didn't hold still.

Pupil

The Dr. told me
it would be ok to take a break
from patching Kacin's eye
for a few months.
Those were such happy
months for us
because
I didn't have to fight Kacin each day to wear his patch
nor did I
ever have to feel guilty if I forgot to put it on him
nor did Kacin
feel the need to fight and complain about his patch.
Fabulous months!
Well, we went to the eye dr. again.
Not the best news I've ever had.
We are back to work
trying to improve that eye
the last little bit.
But since Kacin did not want to wear the patch again,
he chose to use
atropin drops in his good eye.
You put it in once a day
and it makes his vision blurry for up to 12 hours
by dilating his pupil.

Yeah, so the first day of the drops,
I forgot to let Kacin's teacher know
that Kacin wouldn't be
able to see out of his left eye.
As luck may have it,
that was the day that the school
did vision screening on all the kids!!
Kacin said he got some letters right on his right eye
and even less on his left.
Hahaha.

A big set back to the drops,
is that his pupil stays dilated
for many days after using them.
(We are now on day 5 of no drops
and he is still dilated.)
After three days of drops,
he changed his mind about them
and we are back to patching.
yippee (sarcasm)

Easter Traditions

My boys know
it's not Easter unless
we color eggs . . .

showing how he would throw his decorated to be a football egg
 Or unless
we put the baskets on our heads . . .
 Or unless
we go on an egg hunt or two . . .

9: Magic Kingdom Once More

We had one more day left
on our Disney resort passes,
so our last day at the Magic Kingdom
began at 7am
with an Extra Magic hour
when Eric dropped me and the boys off
before he headed to work.
For some reason, this day was not nearly as crowded
as the other days had been.
By 9am we had ridden 8 rides,
and had two fast passes at our disposal.
This last morning was a lot of fun
and not as rushed as the other days.
The day got even better
when Eric joined us around 1:30pm.
A few final Disney pictures . . .

The boys absolutely loved this.
They got magic cards from disney castmembers
to help Merlin on missions
to defeat the villians.
It was a bit like Harry Potter uses the Force
holding up different weapon cards at the stations.
They convinced us to let them complete
three missions during the day.

At Pirate Training
with Capt. Jack Sparrow . . .

Kacin was picked to come on stage
to take a Pirate's oath
and Capt. Jack touched his head!

I wish we could say
that we stayed until the park closed,
but 1am was just a little too late for all of us.
We headed back to the hotel
for one last night in Florida
around 10:30pm.

And that concludes
Disney World vacation 2012!
