We kicked off the holiday season as a family after celebrating sweet Harper’s birthday. (Being sung to was a bit much for this little one).
We walked through their neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. After our walk, Josh took us out on the ranger.

On December 1st, we were lucky enough to get free tickets to Christmas at the Princess in Scottsdale.
This was our first time going here and I think we will add it to our Christmas activity list each year.
They had an amazing lights display and fun rides. Such a great atmosphere to kick off the holiday season.
We went to their Lanterns of Hope area where we were able to write on a paper lantern together.
Then our lantern was lit and sent off to float in the pool.

Perry was struggling for a moment and worried that Santa wouldn't know what he wanted for Christmas. Thank goodness Eric thought to dial Santa up on the phone. Perry left him a message asking for the Harry Potter lego xbox game and then his tears and fears disappeared.

After some hot cocoa, we got to ride the train and the ferris wheel.

While everyone else headed back to the car, we went tubing down the real ice. So fun!

Layla created a little Christmas magic by hiding this elf in my bathroom. Ha! She put christmas music on in there until we found the little guy.
In lieu of a Christmas gathering, our ward had a drive through Christmas party. We were so impressed with the creativity to work with covid. There was a spot to drop off donations then we drove by Santa.
Santa waved and belted out a few jolly "Ho ho ho's" while his elves gave us candy canes. Our next stop was for hot chocolate and cookies. Then we drove to a parking area in which there was a big screen. They showed us a Christmas nativity video for our drive in movie. Such a fun family night! We appreciated all of the hard work to put the event on.
The next week we got an AMAZING cul de sac concert from Alex Boye.
He performed for us for almost an hour and half that night. It was incredible to sit under the stars that night with that festive backdrop and listen to his music and his stories.
Last minute, Perry decided to join us, too. He LOVED the music so much. He danced the whole night. It was great!

One Sunday Christmas activity was to make a gingerbread house. I think this was the first time our family has done this together. I'm not sure we will do it again, haha. We never got a picture of the final thing but imagine lots of candy, lots of frosting, and lots of hands helping and designing.
Brinn and Layla performed to holiday songs at the end of the last dance classes of 2020. They both did such a good job! We were impressed with what they have learned in such a short time.
It was done on a much smaller scale than usual, but I still got to attend an annual favorite things party.
We have been shopping for presents and delivering treats to neighbors and friends. And we even put up Christmas lights this year! We are soaking in this holiday season.
Today was Christmas Sunday and I had the opportunity to speak in church and share my testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ—the one who gives all meaning to the season.
