"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -John F. Kennedy
I got to host many of the Allen side of our family on Thanksgiving day. We don't see most of these people very often so it's always nice to connect, if only for a few hours.
We spent a lot of time in the kitchen and getting everything ready. Thankfully there were many hands and many people who cooked and brought things and made it much simpler to feed 33 people.
Cousins and second cousins at this table showing off their muscles.
Kyler and Kacin thought they could get away at eating at the kid table, but once I realized they were there, I moved them to the adult table.
Someone thought to take a picture of all the Allen first cousins who were there.
The kids had so much fun playing together.
After everyone left, we ended the night with a bang. Karaoke time!!
Everyone got up and sang a song or two. We heard everything from "Let it Go" to "Wannabe" by Spice Girls, "Gangsta's paradise", "Farmer's Daughter", "Who's the (Bat)man," the pina colada song, and more! Such fun with these people. (also, it is just a minority of us who can actually carry a tune...does that make karaoke even better?)
At the end of the day, I was feeling most thankful for good food, a home to welcome so many, beautiful Arizona weather, music, and good people to share it all with. Happy thanksgiving!
