Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam

All four kids of ours are now in primary.

Little Layla entered the primary room doors as a Sunbeam.

She went in a little shy.

But warmed right up and gave me her classic smile.

She asks about her old nursery teachers, but she enjoys primary. Last week, there were some tears when I dropped her off, but let's attribute that to the little fact that she had been up since 3am (she had gotten her "tireds out". No one was happy about that little experience.)

She is just the cutest sunbeam.

the rest of our trip

My goal was to be all caught up with posts from our trip to Arizona by the end of January. I think I'm going to do it!

I'll conclude these travel adventures with a few random pictures mostly from Eric's phone.

Do I even try to explain this one?

E went golfing with Cheston.

We were so glad we got to go to arizona. What a great end to 2014 and beginning of 2015!

Eagar

We were all looking forward to sunshine and warmer weather while in arizona. We didn't get exactly what we were hoping for though. We got plenty of sunshine, but, then on our amazing race day, it rained. And then, a few days later, we saw something I've never seen before on my arizona mountains--snow! All over four peaks and superstition mountains.

It made for a pretty drive to visit E's home town of Eagar.

Our kids were excited to play in the snow when we got to Eagar. Layla was the most anxious to get out into the snow and build a snowman.

Eric made sure while we were there we got the grand tour of Eagar. We drove by the house his grandparents lived in, his old schools, the hill that Stu set on fire, the dome they climbed up in High School, the high school where they pulled the prank that got him arrested, his old house, aunt's house, etc.

Of course, we spent time at Allred's store. E's grandpa opened the store and now his dad owns it.

amazing race and a new year

Jacqui is awesome. Even though she was in the middle of a move, a friend's wedding, christmas, and an injury, she planned an Amazing Race all around town.

Boys vs. Girls. (I'm not going to mention who won.) We had challenges at bass pro shop and riverview park, we had to catch chickens, light sparklers, and give away hamburgers, and we had yummy food stops. So fun!

We celebrated the New Year with sparklers around 8pm and then went home and went to bed. That is my kind of new year's celebration.

Happy 2015!

temple lights

The Mesa temple grounds is a sacred place to me. Because we lived so close when I was growing up, I would walk the beautiful grounds, visit the visitors center with family, sit under a tree next to my sister and read scriptures, or have important talks with a boy (you know, Eric). It is holy ground. There is a spirit of peace, clarity, and inspiration. Even if you can't go inside the temple, which is my favorite, being on the grounds is wonderful.

The temple grounds at christmas time are magical. Walking those sacred grounds with family or friends surrounded by christmas lights and beautiful nativity scenes fills you with the true meaning of christmas. I'm so glad we made it there one evening. I love sharing special places with my children.
